Official Toyah: Posh Pop Tour 2021-22 Announced

Toyah begins the Posh Pop Tour on 2 September 2021 at Banbury Mill Arts Centre.

Performing songs from the new album Posh Pop plus Toyah hits and classics with her electro/acoustic band.

29 UK dates have been announced in total, straddling the later months of 2021 and early months of 2022.

Toyah Live 2021: Wickham Festival (With The SAS Band)

Toyah plays Wickham Festival this evening, as a guest vocalist with The SAS Band, for the Wickham Festival Opening Night Party. Toyah has played numerous gigs and festivals over the past 15 years with Spike’s All Stars.

This is the third time Toyah has played “one of the safest and most relaxed festivals in the UK”. In 2016 she, again, played as part of The SAS Band, and back in 2011 Toyah played a solo set.

Spike’s All-Stars featuring Spike Edney (Queen) and guest vocalists Graham Gouldman (10cc), Steve Harley (Cockney Rebel), Tom Robinson, Toyah, Madeline Bell (Blue Mink) and an all-star band.

Every SAS show is unique and Thursday 5th August at Wickham Festival will feature a fabulous line up of eclectic artists. This will be an evening not to be missed.

Toyah Is a four times Brit Award nominated English musician, singer, songwriter, actress, producer and author. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Willcox has had 8 Top 40 singles, released over 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and 10 feature films, and voiced and presented numerous television shows.

Toyah had only recently announced that she was to put on a concert back on the South Coast with her full live electric band. Toyah last made a visit to Brighton in November 2019 when she played chalk to promote her 2019 charting album ‘In The Court Of The Crimson Queen‘.

West Somerset Free Press: Star Names At Music Festival

Watchet Music Festival will take place as planned this August Bank Holiday – and virtually the entire 2020 line-up has been rolled over to this year.

Major acts including Gabrielle, Shed Seven, Toyah and Sister Sledge all plan to be there as do The Bar-Stewards Sons of Val Doonican, Leylines, The Hawkmen, Future Dub Orchestra and Hands Off Gretel.

On top of that, The Feeling, Hue & Cry, and Desmond Decker’s band The Aces have been added to the bill.

They will also be joining Exeter-based acoustic singing-songwriting duo Sound of the Sirens, Tex Mex band Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young, surf garage band Palooka 5 and the party-starting Oh My God! It’s the Church.

And, of course, the festival’s house band The Wurzels will be on stage, too.

Toyah last made a visit to Brighton in November 2019 when she played CHALK to promote her 2019 charting album ‘In The Court Of The Crimson Queen‘.

It looks like tickets are selling fast for Toyah’s forthcoming – and just very recently announced –  Posh Pop Tour.

The Half Moon in Putney, London, where Toyah brings Posh Pop to on 25th September 2021 – the third date of the tour – tweeted this very exciting news earlier today: “Hurry! Eastbourne Herald: Toyah Lines Up Eastbourne Date

Toyah takes to Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre stage live to recreate her biggest hit singles and showcase her latest album songs in a socially distanced performance on Friday, July 2.

Spokeswoman Sharon Thompson said: “If you don’t remember Toyah from the 80s music chart you’ll likely to know her from her varied acting career, as Monkey in cult film Quadrophenia or more recently in the Lies We Tell or Extremis. If you are a YouTube follower you may even be keeping track of her Lockdown video series, still being broadcast weekly.

For 42 years Toyah has taken to the stage like no other. Her numerous awards and nominations for singing, writing and acting include an honorary doctorate from the University of Central England in Birmingham (2001), a star on the King’s Heath Walk of Fame and a star on Birmingham’s Broad Street Walk of Stars. In 2018 Paul McCartney awarded Toyah a LIPA Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Companionship for outstanding achievement in music, drama, performance and media.

Toyah Live 2021: Virtual Woo Fest Music Festival

Woo Fest Music Festival takes place tomorrow – in a virtual format.

Toyah is one of the headliners of the event. Also playing are Sophie Ellis Bextor, Nigel Clark (of Dodgy), Grant Nicholas (of Feeder), Andy Bennett (of Ocean Colour Scene).

As well as Danyl Johnson, Matt Woosey, Deborah Rose, The Cugins, Drifta, Chewie, Junction 7, The Secret Cabaret, Nick Parker and the False Alarms, Chimp on a Bike, BibleCode Sundays, Loose Lips, Mackenzie Phipps, The Belle Adventure, Erica Jean, Wet Desert, The Flames and many others.

This year Woo Fest is a free-to-view online music festival in aid of The St Richard’s Hospice.

Woo Fest Virtual 2021 begins at 2pm and continues right through the day and evening until 10.30pm.

Oxford Mail: Toyah To Headline Music Festival

Toyah to headline village’s first-ever music festival

Punk princess Toyah Willcox is the Saturday night headliner at the first-ever music festival to be held in the village of Aston.

Astonbury will take place from Friday 20 to Sunday August 22.

There will be two stages, a full bar with real ale and cider, and food. Parking is free, and there will be free children’s activities with camping available near by.

Organisers, who are looking for volunteers, will be donating to Cancer Research, Aston and Cote Community Trust and MIND.

Toyah has announced that she will be putting on a lively and energetic concert with her full live electric band at The Factory Live, located at Unit 9A, Ivy Arch Road, Worthing, BN14 8BX on Thursday 29th July 2021.

Toyah and her chums will be performing her hit singles including ‘Good Morning Universe‘, ‘Thunder In The Mountains‘, ‘Brave New World‘, ‘I Want To Be Free‘ and ‘It’s A Mystery‘ alongside modern days classics ‘Sensational’ and ‘Dance In The Hurricane‘ from her 2019 charting album ‘In The Court Of The Crimson Queen‘.

Electric Ladies Of The 80s: Tour Rescheduled to May/June 2021

Toyah and Hazel O’Connor’s Electric Ladies Of The 80s joint-headlining UK tour has been rescheduled to May and June 2021. This is of course because of the ongoing pandemic.

Ticketholders are being asked not to contact venues, or SEE Tickets at the moment as they will make contact with ticket holders in due course to explain the way forward.

All tickets remain valid for the new dates.

Refunds are available if needed, but we ask if possible for the sake of the venues and their long term financial security, you hold on to tickets and not request a refund if possible.

Post-punk and New Wave artists Toyah and Hazel O’Connor join forces to bring you their exciting new tour, Electric Ladies of the 80s. Performing alongside their full electric band, each artist will perform their own set alongside some duets and surprises.

The Scotsman: Let’s Rock Festival Dates 2021

Here are the new dates and venues for next year’s Let’s Rock festivals

Having postponed its summer series due to the current pandemic the year, Let’s Rock have confirmed the rescheduled dates for summer 2021. The line-ups remain the same, with headliners including Adam Ant, OMD, Wet Wet Wet and UB40. Other performers including Tony Hadley, The Boomtown Rats, Kim Wilde, Marc Almond, Sister Sledge, The Undertones, Midge Ure’s Electronica, Toyah, T’Pau, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Chesney Hawkes, Betty Boo, and Heaven 17. LockdownFest, organised by Let’s Rock in aid of its official charity partner Child Bereavement UK, raised more than £130,000 for the charity.
