At the World Premiere of Lies We Tell it was all about the truth as Premiere Scene interviews actors Emily Atack, Toyah Willcox, Jan Uddin, Sibylla Deen, Reece Ritchie, Danica Johnson, Hamish Rush, director Mitu Misra, producer Andy McDermott and composer Zbigniew Preisner.

Neil Tennant’s Smash Hits Christmas aired on ‘BBC Radio 2′ in December 2012. An interesting look back at the golden years of the magazine, including contributions from Toyah, talking about ‘Smash Hits’ in general as well as her iconic Brave New World cover from 1982. In 2011 he was awarded an MBE for his irrefutable ‘distinctive and significant contribution to the success of British music, fashion and design’.

Toyah features on guest vocals on the new track Drinking from the Gun by Dodson and Fogg. Singing alongside Dodson and Fogg’s Chris Wade, the track was co-written by Toyah and appears on the new album White House On The Hill.
The album White House On the Hill is now available to buy digitally now on bandcamp and a CD can also be pre-ordered online. An abstract video accompanies the track and can be viewed below. Dodson And Fogg is Chris Wade’s acclaimed folk rock music project, with Celia Humphris of Trees and other guest musicians. The folk rock/acoustic singer-songwriter’s material umbrellas acid folk and psychedelia thrown in for good measure.

Toyah and The SAS Band perform a great version of David Bowie’s Suffragette City on Saturday at Wickham Festival. The first time Toyah has sang a Bowie song onstage! (Thanks to Colin Noller)
This year is the 30th anniversary of the release of the Toyah & Fripp spoken word album collaboration The Lady Or The Tiger. Featuring two stories by Frank R Stockton, read by Toyah, accompanied by Robert Fripp’s guitar soundscapes (some call it “Frippertronics”). Toyah fan Dan has compiled and uploaded a great video tribute to “Mayhem” at You Tube. The Battersea warehouse is no more, having been demolished late last year.
