How Video Games Changed The World: Toyah made a surprise three-second appearance in this Channel 4 programme, presented by Charlie Brooker, last Saturday night. It was a 1981 clip from Look! Hear!, with Toyah wearing a Space Invaders jumper! Watch online at 4OD. Toyah is onscreen at approximately nine minutes in. (Thanks to James Armstrong)

Toyah Live 2013: Toyah is rounding off yet another busy year of live tours, concerts, festivals and PAs with two appearances at Marilyns Nightclub in Evesham, Worcestershire. The first PA is on Saturday 30th November, and the other, which just might possibly be Christmas related, takes place on Thursday 19th December – View a larger version of their Toyah promo at their website…

Titania Girl!: Personally I don’t think so but there are a few people (mainly on Twitter) of the opinion that the lovely Sheridan Smith looks sort of Toyah-esque as Titania in the new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, currently playing at the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End. Bird in Flight: A rare promo flyer for one of Toyah’s greatest singles, ‘Bird in Flight/Tribal Look’ from 1980, was recently listed on ebay. The reverse includes info on Toyah’s Safari recordings up to the release of the single. A great piece of retro Toyah memorabilia!

Happy Birthday Joel: All the best to Joel Bogen who is 55 today. Toyah’s guitarist from the beginning of her music career and through all the Safari Records years and albums. He co-wrote songs like Neon Womb, Danced, Computer, Elusive Stranger, Our Movie, Race Through Space, Vision, Love Me, Ieya, Bird in Flight, Jungles of Jupiter, Castaways, The Packt, Dawn Chorus, Brave New World, Laughing With The Fools, Angel & Me, Be Proud Be Loud (Be Heard), Dreamscape, Martian Cowboy, Moonlight Dancing and many others.

The Older Woman: Series Two: The second series of the radio drama, which was originally broadcast on ‘BBC Radio 4’ in August 1994, has just started airing on ‘BBC Radio 4 Extra’. Toyah Live 2014?: It looks like there will be further live Toyah dates to look forward to very early next year. At least two new gigs have recently shown up in news feeds: Holmfirth Picturedome on Friday 21st February and Queens Hall, Nuneaton on Saturday 22nd February. Toyah has already said that the Love Is The Law & More Tour will the last “anniversary” dates for a while so it’s a mystery (doh) what these could be for!!
