Some excitement at Facebook over the last couple of days, as one of the contestants on the latest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! sang the opening lines of Toyah’s Good Morning Universe in an episode. It did make me wonder what on earth would have happened had there been a FB back when Toyah actually was a junglemate herself :) I haven’t watched this cruelty-fest for many years, it was all a bit less contrived and sensationalist in its first few series.
Toyah is guesting on Sky News this morning, most likely for the Newspaper Review, which takes place at approximately 6.40am and 7.40am (though don’t quote me on that!).
Last night’s Through The Keyhole, which included Toyah and the amazing Willyfred the rabbit, is now available to watch online at ITV Player (and STV, RTE etc). 2.93m (17.5% of the available audience) watched Through The Keyhole (overnight viewing figure by overnights.tv/Digital Spy).
The final edition of Series Two of the revamped Through The Keyhole airs tonight on ITV. It’s repeated on Wednesday and will also be available at ITV Player post-broadcast. Might be an idea to tune in or set your record button…

A new article on Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, in which Toyah appeared as Janet in 1980, at Memorable TV. They use a great screen cap of Toyah’s character too.
Period horror. In 1980 the BBC broadcast a feature length period adaptation of Stevenson’s proto horror classic, pulling out all the stops and persuading David Hemmings to take the lead in a rare TV role and very good he is too as the doctor who unleashes his dark side on Victorian society – with murderous and bloody consequences…
Hemmings is marvelously decadent as Hyde and the production design is sumptuous. There are some great supporting performaces too, not least from the excellent Ian Bannen who is not as well remembered these days as he should be) and also a young Toyah Willcox who at the time was trying to make more of a mark as an actress than as the punk singer she was best known for. There’s also a cameo from the gorgeous Diana Dors.
