• Classic Rock/Louder: Toyah and Robert Fripp continue to take everyone’s mind off everything else: The latest cover in Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp’s catalogue of chaos is the Ramones’ classic Blitzkrieg Bop – As sure as Tuesday follows Monday, Toyah Willcox and King Crimson leader Robert Fripp used Sunday as an opportunity to remind everyone that the world isn’t always the miserable place the headlines make it appear. So while North Korea launches its biggest missile test in five years, while tensions mount in Ukraine, while vaccine mandate protests block the streets of Ottawa, and while Jamie Oliver reveals he’s not a fan of Bake Off, the Fripp-Willcoxes are once again lightening humanity’s load. This week it’s a cover of the Ramones’ 1976 classic Blitzkrieg Bop that receives the Willcox-Fripp treatment. In the past two years the channel has gained 149K followers and each Sunday Lunch video receives hundreds of thousands of views each week. Although as the trilogy of retrospective Sunday Lunch collections from the beginning of the year testified, some of these cover clips have been viewed in their many millions!

Toyah At Home, Burning Question and sporadic other content such as Toyah promo videos or announcements all attract big audiences, with Sunday Lunch the cherry on top of the icing on the Toyah & Robert cake! In 1981 Toyah took to the stage at Theatre Royal Drury Lane for a very special concert broadcast live on BBC Radio 1 and on BBC 2 television as The Old Grey Whistle Test Christmas Special which was seen/heard by over 12 million. The concert featured all of the hit singles from 1981 and celebrated the album Anthem which had remained in the album chart all year. In this special episode of Toyah At Home for Christmas 2021, Toyah reflects on the momentous occasion and we see three songs from the concert.
