I had another great trip to London to meet up with my amazing friend Su. I flew down to Gatwick, caught the shuttle, then the train to Victoria Station and the tube to Angel Station and arrived at Su’s place at 10.30am. We spent some great time together and I just had a really good visit. Lots of chats and laughter.

Sharon and I had a great birthday day out in Dundee. We called it Dundee’s Greatest Hits as we spent some of the day revisiting many of the places we had been to before during my previous visits to Sharon’s home city! The V&A, Oor Wullie, Minnie The Minx, Desperate Dan, The McManus Art Gallery & Museum. We also paid a first time visit (for me) to Dundee Rep Theatre after we had an amazing high tea at Chez Mal Dundee (Malmaison). A truly fab day and we even bumped into a very famous actor but I’ll respect his privacy and not name him!

It’s my birthday and I’ll celebrate Toyah if I want to :) Today I turned 59!!! I’m now in my 60th year. To mark the announcement of Twenty-Four From Toyah I’m also celebrating the artwork from one of my favourite Toyah singles/EPs, the gorgeous reverse of the Four More From Toyah sleeve from November 1981, released when I was just 14.
We – Alec, Sharon and me – had a great, and very colourful, day out in Edinburgh to celebrate all three of our birthdays, but mostly Alec’s (Sharon and I will be having another day out for ours, as they are only three days apart, very soon!). We paid a visit to Paddington – we always do – on St Andrew Square and then had breakfast at The Standing Order. Later on we had an amazing birthday afternoon tea at gorgeous Tigerlily in Morningside, which took a couple of hours and was a lot of fun, with delicious food. We spent the remainder of the day in Edinburgh’s Old Town, including on the Royal Mile, at the Castle and Victoria Street. Such a fantastic day!

A very special “tour date”… I had a great day in London last Friday with my amazing friend of almost 30 years, Su. I caught a very early flight from Glasgow Airport to Luton, got the Dart link, then the train and tube to Angel in Islington and was at Su’s front door by 10.30am, ready for a busy day. We had a great catch up – Su makes a lovely cup of tea – then headed to the The C.A.A. (Club for Acts and Actors), which is a wonderful club which Su is the President of. We then met up with a couple of Su’s friends, Paul and Iain, and headed to Browns in Covent Garden for a fantastic lunch. After that myself and Su took a trip to Soho and spent some time in Coven and Old Compton’s Bar, before returning to Su’s house for a rest. Later I caught the tube and train to Stanstead Airport for a late flight back home to Glasgow. What a day… Amazing.

We – me and Sharon – had an absolutely amazing day out in Glasgow. After breakfast at The Crystal Palace we spent a few hours in the (wonderful) West End, visiting Byres Road, Ashton Lane, Glasgow University, the Memorial Chapel, the Uni Cloisters, Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum… and then caught the subway back into the City Centre for a veggie lunch at McDonalds.
Later we saw Das Fluff (who have supported Toyah a couple of times on tour) at Ivory Blacks on Oswald Street and then did a mini pub crawl: The Sir John Moore, Solid Rock Café, Woody’s and finishing off a great day at Delmonicas.

We – me and my mate Mark – had an amazing day in Edinburgh last week. The city is always incredible during August when the festival is running. So vibrant, full of colour and seriously busy. It was lovely spending the day among it all, and we also had a fantastic afternoon tea at Malmaison (Chez Mal Edinburgh) on St. Andrew Square. Great day!

We had a brilliant – and very sunny – day out in Arbroath & Carnoustie, both beautiful seaside towns on the East Coast of Scotland. Great visits to the beach and harbours of both places, delicious food, and a lot of laughs!

As Toyah’s new studio album, Future Dreaming, is being finalised for release, take a look back – via Dreamscape’s huge news archive – at Toyah’s most recent studio album, Posh Pop.
Upon its release, almost five years ago, the album received great reviews from a number of magazines, there were some great articles published focusing on the album, fan reaction to the release was universally positive too. Toyah filmed videos for every song, and toured the album in late 2021/early 2022.
Toyah wrote and recorded each song almost entirely on her own – with only collaboration and input from Simon Darlow and Bobby Willcox. Toyah also filmed each video and captured all of the associated promo shots/photos with little outside assistance. Amazing!
The album charted at #22 on the Official UK Album Chart. Posh Pop became Toyah’s highest charting studio album since 1982, when The Changeling peaked at #6.

NB. When I look at the huge archive this website has created over the past 26+ years, and the work involved, when I could have not bothered to do any of it, I sometimes wonder why there’s been so much animosity directed at me, and I could name names. It’s just odd, but then it’s been going on for fucking decades now! I guess enthusiasm and positivity is threatening to it’s opposites!!
We had a great day in our glorious capital, taking photos on Princes Street with an ace view of Edinburgh Castle, breakfast at The Caley Picture House, a bit of exploring around the city, an absolutely amazing afternoon tea in the gorgeous TigerLily (definitely going back there very soon!), and rounding off a lovely day in Edinburgh’s long-running gay hot spot, CC Blooms. Yet another fun day out.

Brian and I had a fantastic day out for Glasgow Pride in a very busy city centre. We even managed to do some Toyah spotting at HMV. A really busy but brilliant day!

Had a lovely day in Dundee last week, with visits to the, amazing, V&A, Dundee Waterfront, Market restaurant, Old Bank Bar, and lots of sightseeing around the city. Enjoyed a fab meal with Sharon’s Mum and Dad, Irene and Bob. Lots of good chat, great company and lovely weather. Felt like I was on holiday for the day. Brilliant!

2026 marks the 50th year of Toyah’s career! Her very first professional job, playing the role of Sue in the BBC’s “Second City First” television play, Glitter, aired in November 1976 – having been filmed in 1975.
The Blue Meaning is an album, and Toyah era, that continues to intrigue even some 46 years after the release of the album. It could be said it’s captivated even more listeners over the past five years – with the deluxe Cherry Red reissue in 2021 truly celebrating the magnificent 1980 studio album in glorious style (and content).

Sharon and I had a great day out in Paisley and Glasgow this week. It was swelteringly hot but a lot of fun. We spent some time at my place and then headed into the City Centre!

We – Me, Sharon, Brian, Alec & Michael – had a brilliant day in our glorious capital on Friday (12th June). It’s impossible not to have a great time in Edinburgh as it’s such a wonderful, interesting, vibrant city. We packed in breakfast, a museum visit, a walk around the city centre, lunch and some chill out time at our respective hotels before doing the Songs And Stories Meet & Greet with Toyah at The Queen’s Hall, followed by another great show.

We – Sharon and I – had an awesome day in Aberdeen on Wednesday (10th June). I haven’t visited The Granite City since I was a teenager so I was really looking forward to it and it didn’t disappoint. We had a lot of fun before doing the Songs And Stories Meet & Greet with Toyah at the Tivoli Theatre, followed by a great show. So good to meet Toyah again after many years and get my first ever photo with her.

We had a wonderful four-day mini holiday, visiting the amazing city of Liverpool. Saturday was an incredible day at Comic Con, meeting Matt Smith and Karen Gillan (aka the iconic 11th Doctor and Amy Pond from Doctor Who), which was so much fun with so many characters and great people. We also visited Brookside, Liverpool’s two stunning cathedrals, and the rest of the time we just explored a fantastic city, and visited a few of the great pubs. Such a memorable few days and I’ll definitely return to Liverpool.
