And, as ever, Jimmy is helped by a host of famous question-setters, including Jim Bowen, Kim Wilde, Tony Robinson and Toyah Willcox.

Speaking of which, the fantastic Toyah Willcox Interview Archive is celebrating seven years online today – The site launched on 7th September 2006 and has brought us lots of great Toyah content over the last seven years. Happy Birthday to the Archive and Lärwi.

Around this time, late Summer, 30 years ago in 1983 Toyah was in the Dordogne region of France filming John Fowles’ The Ebony Tower alongside Sir Laurence Olivier, Greta Scacchi and Roger Rees. The drama, made by Granada Television, eventually aired on ITV in December 1984. We can’t look back at Toyah’s 1983 without including one of her most memorable acting roles. View promo shots from the film here, here, here and here. Toyah will be appearing, as one of the question-setters, on an 80s version of The Big Fat Quiz Of The … later this month as part of an 80s themed night on Channel 4.

British Comedy Guide: Comedy stars line up for Channel 4’s 80s Night

Channel 4 has announced The Channel 4 80s Night, a strand of programming involving established formats being given a 1980s theme. The plan follows the success of previous programming blocks including Channel 4’s Mash Up and Channel 4’s Funny Fortnight.

Described as “a night of retro most definitely bodacious fun”, the main evening of shows will be broadcast on Friday 20th September, with additional programming over the next two days. Saturday 21st will see the channel screening classic films from the 1980s, then Sunday 22nd will see The Big Fat Quiz Of The 80s take over prime-time on the channel. The long-running panel format broadcast an 80s special last year as part of Channel 4’s 30th birthday celebrations, but this will be a brand new episode again. Jimmy Carr will resume his regular host role, with Jim Bowen, Kim Wilde, Tony Robinson and Toyah Willcox amongst those setting questions for the panel.

• The Older Woman: Series Two: The second series of the radio drama, which was originally broadcast on ‘BBC Radio 4’ in August 1994, has just started airing on ‘BBC Radio 4 Extra’. Although Toyah doesn’t appear in this series she is still credited as she sings the theme tune, which has been very slightly changed from Series One – Listen at BBC iPlayer…
