Over the last few months at Facebook I’ve been sporadically counting down the Top 5 Most Iconic Toyah Images – Of course this will differ for most of us and these are only my personal choices, but I’m sure at least a couple below are everyone’s favourites. Anyway, I’ll be posting my #1 very soon and I’m sure many of you will know already what it is.

Facebook Toyah fans “liked” these four in the following order: 1. Thunder In The Mountains, 2. Ieya/The Blue Meaning, 3. Sheep Farming In Barnet, 4. Anthem.

Toyah attended this evening’s launch of Club to Catwalk at the V&A Museum in London. The other photo is of the Melissa Caplan outfit, included in the exhibition, that Toyah only wore once and subsequently donated to Sheffield Rock Museum in 1987. Toyah also tweeted a photo of herself and Helen David at the launch, and the Official Toyah Facebook posted another photo of Toyah with the outfit. (Thanks to Andi)

Last month the complete Safari Records/Intergalactic Ranchhouse/Toyah Fan Club photo collection was added to Dreamscape’s Gallery. I’ve now finally also added a thumbnail link to the page on the Gallery menu.
The full collection of “Intergalactic Ranchhouse” and “Toyah Fan Club” photos, which originally accompanied the regular newsletters, were mailed out to fan club subscribers between 1980 and ’86.
There are also a few pre and post-fan club/official Toyah photos included too. (Thanks to Andi Westhorpe for the IRH/TFC collection. Thanks also to Paul Lomas)
Over a decade ago Dreamscape reported that Toyah was regularly appearing in Eastenders.
Eagle-eyed viewers of one of Britain’s favourite (and most depressing!) soaps spotted the classic Quadrophenia poster showing up regularly onscreen on Billy Mitchell’s wall.
In January 2012 Damon King sent us photos of the Toyah! Toyah! Toyah! (K-Tel) album he had spotted on one of the market stalls and now, the ultimate… one of the greatest live albums… Warrior Rock hits Elstree/Walford!!! Click on the photos to zoom. (Thanks again to Damon and also to Larwi)

A great photo of The Humans, taken in Portland, Maine By Paul Nicholson (Toyah’s Sound Engineer for over 20 years) when they toured America in September 2011. The Humans’ third album is mixed, mastered and should hopefully be available “late Spring/early Summer”. Click below to see the full version. (Thanks to Paul for the photo)

This is brilliant. A huge thank you to, another longtime friend of Dreamscape, Andrew York for taking the time to colour the Toyah @ Pop Goes Christmas in 1982 photo. I’ve added a bit of text and a tree to add to the festive feel of it. (Thanks again to Andi and Andrew)
