Live 2016: Toyah Unplugged

unplugged16aToyah is confirmed for a special one-off filmed gig on Tuesday 24 February 2016 at London’s Water Rats.

Toyah Unplugged is a one-off intimate concert which will see a four-piece acoustic band perform hits and classics. There will be no storytelling or background visuals in this gig like the Acoustic, Up Close & Personal gigs.

It will take place in the legendary London music pub/venue The Water Rats.

The concert will be filmed by Vintage TV for broadcast at a later date. Marc Almond plays a sold out gig at The Water Rats for Vintage TV on Tuesday 26 January for the same filmed concert series.

Let’s Rock The 80’s have revealed the line up for four of their seven events for 2016, The Human League will headline both Exeter and Cookham, with Billy Ocean headlining Leeds and Holly Johnson at Southampton. Full line up:

Southern Daily Echo: Let’s Rock Southampton 2016

letsrocksh15aBad hair, neon clothes and most importantly classic tracks that went down in music history – it’s Southampton’s own celebration of the 80s.

Now organisers of Let’s Rock Southampton have announced the line-up for their third date on the Common next summer, the Daily Echo can today reveal.

Revellers will be dancing to the sounds of former Frankie Goes To Hollywood lead vocalist Holly Johnson, heartthrobs from the era Rick Astley and Jason Donovan, Grammy Award winners Soul II Soul, Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift and former teen icon Tiffany.

Also on the bill are Scottish rockers Big Country, 2 Tone ska revival band The Selecter, Eurovision favourites Sonia and Cheryl, Mike and Jay from Bucks Fizz, plus chart-topping Toyah and rockers Dr & The Medics.

Live 2016: Yesterday Once More

live16aThere are still some months to go of 2015, but Toyah’s gig diary for 2016 is already filling up with live dates. The Yesterday Once More 80s Weekender, in Somerset, is set to be played in March.
