Lechlade Music Festival: Intergalactic Toyah Cake

The thoughtful organisers of the Lechlade Music Festival presented Toyah with a fantastic birthday cake on Friday night, as her live set closed the first day of concerts and events. Toyah Live 2014: Lechlade/Crick/Volksfest

lechlade14cIt’s another of those exceptionally busy Bank Holiday weekends for Toyah, with three festival concerts. Last night there was a full-band gig at Lechlade Music Festival 2014, which is taking place at Riverside Park, Lechlade-On-Thames, Gloucestershire. Over 70 bands are playing through until Sunday.

Tonight Toyah’s Acoustic, Up Close & Personal tour headlines Crick Boat Show, another three-day festival, in Northampton. 25,000 people are expected over the weekend at the annual boat show.

On Sunday Toyah plays another full-band gig at Plymouth Volksfest 2014 in Devon. Also playing at this festival, which has six stages (including a dance village and cabaret tent), are Razorlight, The Feeling, Heaven 17 and The Boomtwon Rats. Toyah is scheduled to be onstage between 6.30 -7.30pm on Sunday evening.

Gloucestershire Echo: Toyah To Headline Lechlade Music Festival

gloucecho14aThree iconic bands from the 1980s will headline next month’s Lechlade Music Festival, it has been announced.

Punk princess Toyah Willcox receives top billing on Friday May 23 while Dr and the Medics and The Blow Monkeys will be joint headliners on Sunday May 25.

The three day family-friendly festival takes place at Riverside Country Park in Lechlade over the bank holiday weekend, with camping from Friday to Monday.

The line-up features more than 80 bands which will perform on three stages.
