Ipswich Star: Toyah Heading To Let’s Rock Ipswich

July 29th, 2022

Toyah heading for Ipswich with Let’s Rock at Trinity Park

A host of 80s stars will turn the clock back 40 years when a major music event comes to Trinity Park near Ipswich in September to round off the Festival of Suffolk.

Among the bill-toppers at “Let’s Rock – Ipswich” will be UK entertainment icon Toyah who is paying a return visit to an area she has played several times during her career.

She will share the stage with Adam Ant, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, ABC, and Ipswich’s own Nik Kershaw among other massive names from a great era in music.

Toyah spoke to us about her visit – and the importance of 80s music. She said: “It really is great, we all get along together very well and there is a real energy about that era that means we all have a great time.

“When I’m touring myself and doing a full set I do a lot of my new material – but with this I have about 20 minutes and I concentrate on the 80s stuff, that’s what people have come to hear.”

Ipswich Star: Fangs For The Memory!

October 29th, 2020

Fangs for the memory! Are you in Ipswich Regent Vampires Rock photos in Days Gone By?

Do you love putting on a ghostly or ghoulish costume to watch Vampires Rock at the Ipswich Regent?

The cult show has visited Ipswich many times over the years – and today we’re looking back at some of the amazing costumes worn by members of the audience.

The concert series is masterminded by Steve Steinman, alias Baron von Rockula. Laced with pyrotechnics, it pays a spectacular tribute to Meat Loaf, AC/DC, Guns ‘n Roses, and more.

It’s all very light hearted, and the perfect way to celebrate Halloween. There have been various different twists to the show over the years, and Toyah Willcox took part in 2009.

Steve Steinman is due to bring his Meat Loaf tribute show, Anything For Love, to the Regent in November next year.

Ipswich Star: Review: Hormonal Housewives with Toyah Willcox

March 7th, 2013

A review of the second show of the Hormonal Housewives tour. Praise for Toyah and the cast by the Ipswich Star.

Men were definitely in the minority at the Ipswich Regent.

There was an element of men-bashing, and with such a female-biased audience, it obviously went down well. But running deeper than that, most of the audience will have been able to pick at least one thread they could relate to, giving them a unity with the cast.

A great girls night out.
