It’s exactly one week until Toyah’s birthday. In years gone by Dreamscape has sporadically “counted down” to Toyah’s big day and, what the heck, we are doing it again… There will be a birthday related post right here every day until May 18th.
Today – Take a look back at how we marked Toyah’s birthday five years ago: There were previously unseen polaroids and rare photos, screen caps from long-ago TV roles, features (including an Anthem one that is finally being printed as I type!) and much more…

A special upload at Fragments for Toyah’s birthday – My Big Year, a pilot show, filmed at BBC Scotland in 2000, which never aired. Toyah talks to Rory McGrath about her career, and 1981.
Wishing Toyah and Robert a Happy Anniversary, their 28th!, and Happy Birthday too to Mr Fripp. Here is a selection of photos from over the years. Have a lovely day.
Wishing Toyah and Robert a Happy Anniversary, their 27th!, and Happy Birthday too to Mr Fripp. Here is that great photo, one of the first of Toyah and Robert together, taken the year they married, 1986, and also released their first collaboration; ‘The Lady Or The Tiger’.
Toyah co-presented Look! Hear! for ‘BBC Midlands’ for three series between 1979 and 1981. The programme covered music and the arts in The Midlands and was made at BBC Pebble Mill studios. This programme, from the 1981 series, includes two live performances from Duran Duran. Click below to watch the full edition (in six parts). (Thanks to Andi)
Toyah appeared in, what was billed as a “younger version of Not The Nine O’Clock News“, Dear Heart in Spring 1982. There was only one series, which aired on BBC2. The best known of the numerous characters Toyah played was probably “Super Advice Person”, who appeared every week. Click below to view a full edition (in five parts). (Thanks to Andi)
Sending Best Wishes to Toyah from Falling To Earth and all our visitors… Happy Birthday. Please return later today for our birthday updates… Nothing as elaborate as years gone by I’m afraid, but I hope you like them anyway… Click below to zoom in on our ‘card’!
