This past weekend Toyah revisited her 1985 album, Minx, by exploring the second single released from it, Soul Passing Through Soul, in Toyah At Home. Here’s a bit of SPTS fan art I put together a few years ago… (While on the subject of Minx – Space Between The Sounds is still one of my favourite Toyah songs. Yup, it’s over-the-top but bloody brilliant!!)
There was a brief glimpse of Toyah on ITV’s The BRITS at 40 last night. She was presenting an award at the 1985 show, which was called the BPI Awards back then (previously known as The British Rock & Pop Awards). Last night’s programme was a fairly dire two hours but here’s a great photo of Toyah from the 1985 awards.
About Toyah… Possibly! And only up to 1985!! Here’s a retro Toyah interview from the mid-80s, from The Beat magazine – Please click on it to read. We’re counting down to Toyah’s 60th…
Snow, snow and, yup, more snow! Brrrr!! Welcome to March in the UK…

As previously mentioned, the 2013 reprint of the 2005 CD reissue of Toyah’s 1985 Safari Records album ‘Mayhem’ is now available to pre-order at Burning Shed and will ship from 3rd June. This is the same edition as the ’05 CD, but the album is also now available digitally for the first time. Here’s a new Dreamscape “advert” for Mayhem. Please click for a larger version.
This fascinating album gives an insight into late 70s/early 80s works in progress by Toyah and comprises finished songs not included on EPs and albums.
