Artwork designed by celebrated singer, actress and Pershore resident Toyah Willcox has been used to decorate a giraffe sculpture for the Worcester Stands Tall trail.
The prolific performer, whose career has spanned more than 40 years, themed her design around the idea of ‘making a wish’ – with the giraffe covered in stars, animals and children.
‘Touch the Wishing Stars’ has been brought to life on the eight foot, fibreglass sculpture by Malvern artist and illustrator Rachel Blackwell. The decorated giraffe will now be displayed alongside 29 others through the streets and open spaces of Worcester for 10 weeks from July 9 to September 16.
Ms Willcox said: “As a child, making a wish whilst holding my parents’ hands was one of the most thrilling and special things in my life.
“I am thrilled Rachel Blackwell has brought my design to life and I truly hope everyone discovers their inner child whilst making a wish.”

An internationally renowned singer will perform in her home county of Worcestershire as part of a special ‘up close and personal’ gig.
Pershore’s very own Toyah Willcox will perform an unplugged set of all her favourite hits at Evesham Arts Centre on Saturday, February 11.
The show, ‘Toyah: Up Close And Personal’, will see the acclaimed guitarist recall stories from her colourful 35-year career, from filming pop videos on horseback at 5am to acting alongside Katharine Hepburn and Laurence Olivier. She promises to take the audience on a journey, through her meticulous and melodic acoustic versions of ‘It’s A Mystery’, ‘Thunder In The Mountains’, ‘I Want To Be Free’ and ‘Good Morning Universe’.

An Evesham nightspot is bringing Essex and the 80s to the Vale with two very special club nights.
The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) and Celebrity Big Brother star Mario Falcone will hold a meet and greet at the club next Friday (November 29) before 80s legend Toyah Willcox performs live the following night (Saturday).
Toyah is an 80s icon with a career spanning 30 years that includes eight Top 40 singles and more than 20 albums. General Manager Richie Ross said: “We’re heading into the festive season with bang this year and can’t wait to welcome Mario and Toyah to Evesham”.

BBC Sport presenter Clare Balding and Pershore singer and actress Toyah Willcox were the special guests at Croome Court as they promoted its new walking book.
The historic National Trust mansion, situated near Pershore, was the host venue for an upcoming episode of BBC Radio 4 show ‘Ramblings’ on Thursday (January 31). Ramblings, which is presented by Ms Balding, features interviews with notable and interesting people during walks through the countryside.
Amy Forster, house and visitor services manager at Croome Court, said: “Toyah is a strong supporter of Croome and has been kind enough to promote our walking programme and walking events in the past. BBC Radio 4 interviewed Toyah because of the real need she has to walk in order to keep fit.”

Pershore celebrity Toyah Willcox is urging people in the Vale to explore the sights of the countryside by taking part in the Great British Walk.
The actress, singer and writer wants as many people to join National Trust’s new campaign which aims to celebrate the British countryside in the autumn season. In order to celebrate this, more than 3,000 walking events, activities and trails at National Trust places across Britain including the Vale’s own Croome Court near Pershore.
And the former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star urged people to view the surroundings at Croome. “Croome Park is just absolutely stunning,” she said. “It’s designed yet you think you’re in natural countryside. You look out across these gentle rolling hills and you see wonderful monuments, follies and statues and the lake in particular is really lovely. You truly feel you own the whole park while you walk around it.”
