.East Life:
Exclusive Interview With The
Queen Of Comedy Su Pollard
Thursday
31st July, 2014
As the
queen of comedy, Su Pollard,
returns to our theatres this
month with another outrageous
side splitting production from
the Ha Ha team, we caught up with
the comedian to find out more
about Ha Ha Hood and her visit
across the region
Tell us about Ha Ha Hood
and your character?
Ha Ha Hood! And the Prince of
Leaves is the latest show from
Ben Langley whose shows are so
successful because, even though
they are parodies, the subjects
are still treated with respect.
My Maid Marian is really
independent, ballsy and brave.
Shes very to the point,
strong willed and doesnt
mince her words. I far prefer
playing a character like that to
a poor princess who whimpers and
simpers all the time. Who wants
to play a part like that?
Nightmare!
Are you looking forward
to working with Cannon &
Ball?
I love working with Tommy and
Bobby. Id worked with them
a couple of times before on
variety shows. I think its
an excellent bit of casting
because they have a lot of stage
experience and will bring a real
strength to the show because
theyre such a great double
act.
.Get Bucks: Comedy
Production Of Robin Hood Comes To
Bucks
Thursday
31st July, 2014
The Ha
Ha! team are back with a brand
new comic romp, this time about
Robin Hood. Camilla Goodman chats
to Nottingham-born lass and
well-known comedy icon Su Pollard
about the show, playing Maid
Marion and why the whole family
will enjoy it
Arguably Nottinghamshires
feistiest female, Maid Marian, is
played by Nottingham-born Su
Pollard, who serves up a
world-weary Marian
definitely more matron than maid.
Tommy Cannon, from Cannon and
Ball, takes on the evil Sheriff
of Nottingham and Little John
while Bobby Ball, currently
starring in BBC1s Not Going
Out with Lee Mack, doubles up as
Friar Tuck and Guy of Gisborne.
Rehearsals for the show began
this week and Su, best known as
playing scatty chalet maid Peggy
in Hi-de-Hi, cant wait to
get stuck in.
Its hilarious,
Su promised. Its a
cross between a pantomime,
sketches and stand-up. Its
got all those great elements as
well as a nice bit of music and a
great set and costumes.
Su Pollard
(Hi-de-Hi!, You Rang,
MLord) and comedy duo
