Tribute To Paul Shane
Friday
17th May, 2013
Today,
I am remembering my dear Shaney,
not only a great colleague but a
fabulous mate over the years. How
happy am I that I got to spend
thirty years of my life with
someone who's company I always
loved. We were kindred spirits,
really, of a similar background
who fully understood our little
corners of beginnings. We were
both able to grow together so it
was a professional and personal
journey that we could relate to.
I obviously can't adequately
describe all the adventures we
had, but I do know that we both
got to understand and appreciate
a good wine! His greatest moment
was when he correctly identified
his first bottle of Chateau La
Feit! How fabulous.
I would like to thank, on his
behalf, all of you who were fans
of his and I know he greatly
appreciated you . He, above
anyone, knew you are nowhere
without your audience.
God bless, Paul and Hi-de-hi.
Your pal, Su xxxx aka as
Four Eyes (affectionately termed
by Shaney)

.Rest in
Peace Paul Shane (1940 - 2013)
Friday
17th May, 2013
It is with much
sadness that Su Online reports
the death of Paul Shane, a long
time friend of Su and co-star in
the legendary Hi-de-Hi!,
You Rang, M'Lord? and Oh,
Doctor Beeching! BBC
sitcoms.
Shane was a coal miner before
starting out as a cabaret act
touring working men's clubs in
the 1960s.
In his later career he appeared
in Emmerdale as Solomon
Dingle, as well as having parts
in Holby City, Doctors,
Coronation Street and A
Touch Of Frost.
He is survived by three daughters
and six grandchildren. His wife
Dory died in 2001.
Linda Kremer, Shane's agent for
15 years, said: "Paul Shane
was a consummate professional, a
true gentleman, a good friend,
and a joy to work with. He didn't
suffer fools, always maintained
his sense of humour, never
stinted on the time he gave to
his fans.
He lightened my life and I'll
miss him enormously."
