SuOnline, with the full
blessing and backing of Su, is seeking to
secure the release of the classic comedy
series, You Rang, M'Lord? on DVD.
BUT, we need
YOUR help!
Playback-Universal,
the company behind the recent DVD and VHS
Hi-De-Hi! sets, are the most
likely avenue to a similar set dedicated
to You Rang, M'Lord? But if the
idea is to become a reality, and an
addition to Playback's comedy collection,
then a significant number of requests for
such a release will have to be submitted
to them.
If any of you
would like this classic series, Su's
personal favourite from her own TV CV,
then please join us in contacting
Playback-Universal with requests for a
release. The more communication they
receive, the higher the probability of
success. Please alert anyone you know who
may be interested in this campaign to
"lend a hand"! All emails
should be sent to:
communicate@unistudios.com
You Rang,
M'Lord?, written by Jimmy Perry and
David Croft, ran for four successful
series on BBC1 here in the UK and was
affectionately known by many as "Upstairs,
Downstairs - with laughs!". The
pilot episode, 'You Rang, M'Lord?, aired
in December 1988 and the final (number 26),
'Well, There You Are Then...!', was
broadcast in April 1993. Almost all the
episodes ran for 50 minutes.
Su, again
starring alongside Paul Shane and Jeffrey
Holland from Hi-De-Hi!, played Ivy
Teasdale. The series, featuring many well-known
names in its regular cast and as guest
stars, regularly attracted audiences of
well over 10 million. Another reason why
we, and Su, believe that many would
welcome the series on DVD.
We will keep you
regularly updated on developments -
fingers crossed!
