Notices at Arts, 31 May
Shout!, the
Sixties jukebox musical starring
Hi-de-His Su Pollard , has
posted early closing notices at
the Arts Theatre. It opened in
the West End on 29 April 2009
(previews from 17 April) and had
been booking to 28 June (See 1st
Night Photos, 1 May 2009). It
will now close on 31 May after a
months run. Official London
Theatre Guide: Shout! shuts on 31
May
Shout!, the
60s jukebox musical currently
playing at the Arts theatre, is
to close on 31 May.
The self-proclaimed
Grooviest Show In
Town, which stars Su
Pollard, Tiffany Graves, Shona
White and Marissa Dunlop, opened
in London in April, following a
successful tour. It had been
booking until 28 June.
Playbill: Shout!
to End London Run May 31
Shout! will
shout no more: The sixties
musical revue will shutter at the
Arts Theatre May 31. It was
originally booking to June 28,
after opening officially April 29
(following previews from April
17).
Based on an original
idea by Phillip George and David
Lowenstein, the show was adapted
for its London premiere by Julie
Balloo, and is directed and
choreographed by Bill Deamer, who
previously staged the show for a
U.K. regional tour in 2008. Su
Pollard, who headlined that cast,
also stars in the London
incarnation.
Show and Stay:
The swinging '60s musical
starring Su Pollard has reduced
its booking period to 31 May.
Originally scheduled
to play until 28 June, Shout!
opened at the Arts Theatre on 29
April. Directed and choreographed
by Bill Deamer, the show is a
vibrant and colourful romp
through the music of the 1960s.
Featuring the
much-loved British actress Su
Pollard, if you want to see the
swinging musical before it
closes, this might be your last
chance to catch it in the West
End.

.Shout!
- In the West End |
.Thursday
21st May, 2009........................................................................................Theatre |
Whilst it is sad
news that the West End run of Shout!
will close earlier than expected,
Su has received yet more praise
in her role as Yvonne. Muswell Hill
Journal: Su Pollard as Auntie
Yvonne represents the
"hip" side of the older
generation and balances a touch
of fun eccentricity with
convincing affection for the
girls.
Whats On Stage:
Marissa Dunlop, Shona White and
Tiffany Graves make for a
formidable trio (Graves is
especially strong) while Su
Pollard does sterling work as
'wacky' aunt Yvonne.
The Telegraph:
The songs, once immortalised by
Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black,
Lulu and Petula Clark, are
performed with brio, and sound as
fresh and engaging as ever. Su
Pollard plays a garrulous
hairdresser with her usual
over-the-top glee.
Daily Express:
This delightful evening is awash
with nostalgia.
