30th June, 2007:
Dreamscape Announcement |
The response to
my decision to close
Dreamscape (20th June)
has been absolutely
overwhelming. The
announcement 10 days ago
wasn't about
attention-seeking or
similar. I am being
completely honest when I
say I was oblivious to
how much some people
appreciate/enjoy this
website. Some of the
emails I've received have
been amazing
(particularly one that
REALLY made me think) and
I would really love to
reproduce them here but
have to respect the
privacy of the
individuals. One very
succinct mesage simply
said: "Intergalactic
Ranchouse and
Dreamscape... the two
staples of Toyah
fandom!" To even
have Dreamscape mentioned
in the same sentence as
IR is very flattering. So...
In response to the
responses(!!) I do feel
that I would be acting in
a really selfish way if
I, at this point in time
anyway, just removed this
resource. Especially at
such an interesting time
in Toyah's music and
acting career.
I have added an
end of June catch-up
update and there are
going to be some changes
made to the site, but as
of 1st August Dreamscape
will continue!
Have a great
Summer. Thanks to
everyone who has been in
touch.

Toyah
Willcox, the singer
turned actress and keen
gardener, is thrilled
with her latest purchase:
a 19th-century home near
Nice, on the
French-Italian border.
She bought the two-bed
place for about £500,000
a few months ago, and
says that it has already
risen in value by
£50,000; she plans to
renovate and add two more
bedrooms. Willcox, 49, is
coy about the precise
location, saying only
that it is in a
very old town overlooking
a harbour. I
didnt mean to buy
it, but its a
property thats so
rare, I just had to have
it, she
explains. [

"Facelift"
interview - Listen Online |
Toyah
Willcox: `I Plan To Have
More Cosmetic Surgery`
In
an exclusive interview
with Maggie Philbin,
Toyah Willcox reveals her
next procedure, past
regrets London
18 June, 2007 -
Looking Good
BuyAssociation, the
website dedicated to
providing the public with
unbiased, On Demand and
free information about
the latest surgical and
non-surgical aesthetic
procedures, today
announced their latest
weekly radio show
featuring Toyah Willcox,
famous musician and
author of Diary of
a Facelift, and
consultant plastic
surgeon Norman
Waterhouse, will air on
Thursday 21 June on One
Word (digital) Radio at
11:30am and 7pm as well
as being available for
free download via the
BuyAssociation.co.uk site
and iTunes. The Radio
Show reveals Toyahs
plans for future cosmetic
surgery as well as the
best procedures for women
in their 50s, and
highlights an entirely
new technique by facelift
specialist Norman
Waterhouse, spelling the
end of the giveaway
wind tunnel
look.
The interviewees
were quizzed by
well-known presenter
Maggie Philbin, of
'Tomorrows World'
and QED fame, who asked
Mr. Waterhouse just how
invisible his famous
invisible
stitches were
to which he
replied;
"I can hide
a facelift from your
lover, but not from your
hairdresser!"
During the show,
Toyah spoke of her
decision to get a
facelift four years ago
and outlines which
procedures she is
considering having done
in the future. She
says
"Ive
had a facelift in my
40s and I plan on
being refreshed again in
my 50s"
When asked if
she had any regrets, she
admitted that, although
delighted with the
results, she wishes that
she hadnt gone to
Paris for the procedure,
saying there are many
fantastic surgeons in the
UK, and said her next
surgery will definitely
be performed here.
The show further
highlighted the different
types of facelifts
available including the
new 'Waterhouse'
technique recently
published in a medical
journal, and pinpointed
the sort of people who
may be ineligible for
plastic surgery, such as
heavy smokers.
According to
Maggie Philbin;
"Toyah gave us a
very frank account of her
own experiences and is
one of an increasing
number of women who has
chosen to have aesthetic
surgery and talk
about it. But there are a
bewildering number of
procedures and new
techniques and some
make-over programmes can
present a misleading
picture of whats
actually involved.
Surgery isnt for
everyone. On
"Looking Good"
we provide straight down
the line, unbiased and
honest advice. We
dont gloss over how
long it can take to
recover from procedures
or what can go
wrong."
This radio show
can be found On Demand at
BuyAssociation.co.uk
along with other
Podcasts, Fact Sheets and
Radio Shows all providing
advice on cosmetic
surgery and procedures.

Wed
20th June, 2007:
Dreamscape |
I've been told
today, by Safari Records,
to remove the downloads
that contain
songs/material they own
the copyright to. The
Downloads section has
been removed as they
requested. As
of today Dreamscape will
no longer be updated.
Apologies to everyone who
has enjoyed visiting the
site but I think it will
only now be a matter of
time before I'm
"asked" to
remove copyrighted
photographs etc.
The site will
stay online until my
hosting package runs out
later this year so if
there is anything (aside
from the Downloads) you
want to save please feel
free to do so. Unlike the
last time the site almost
closed (back in 2003 -
not
"frequently" as
someone at a Yahoo group
stated a couple of years
back) I have to say I
won't change my
decision.
The internet has
changed a lot over the
last four years, with
MySpace etc, so there are
plenty of alternative
ways to keep up with what
Toyah is doing these
days.
Thanks to
everyone who has
contributed news/info
over the years...

Wildlife
presenter Michaela

from the 14 local Saving

Saving
Planet Earth West
Midlands
The
plight of the region's
wildlife comes under the
microscope as Toyah
Willcox takes a look at
some of the unlikely
creatures living in one
of England's most densely
populated areas. She
discovers that all kinds
of animals are struggling
to survive in the West
Midlands.
Toyah travels to
Staffordshire for a
scarce sighting of salmon
returning to the River
Trent. She lends a hand
with the re-introduction
of the fish to the
waterways
something that has not
been seen in the Trent
for nearly 80 years.
From there,
Toyah rummages around in
the undergrowth of
Worcester to help
re-house the extremely
rare slow worm a
species that is coming
under further threat due
to the destruction of
their natural habitat.
Toyah's final
destination on her
eco-journey is to seek
out the water vole in
Herefordshire. Once a
common sight on the river
banks of England, their
numbers have dwindled
rapidly from around seven
million at the end of the
Eighties down to fewer
than 900,000 by the
mid-Nineties.

17th June, 2007: 'Belle
De Jour' - More Reports |
Although
still, as yet,
unconfirmed by Toyah,
numerous sources are now
running stories on her
joining the Belle De

2007):
Toyah
Willcox cast in Belle De

NEW!
TOYAH WILLCOX has been
cast as Billie Piper's
mother in ITV's big
autumn call-girl drama,
Belle de Jour.
The
singer-turned-actress who
made her name as a rock
star in the early 80s
with hits such as I Want
To Be Free and It's A
Mystery, will join Piper
in an eight-part
adaptation of a book
based on the infamous
blog.
Belle de Jour -
whose identity is only
known to a handful of
people - was a high-class
call girl who made a
fortune from chronicling
her exploits on the
internet. Her on-line
diary about her sexual
adventures earned her a
six-figure book deal,
after drawing thousands
of readers to her daily
site. ITV then picked up
on its popularity and
decided to turn it into a
prime-time drama.
Cherie Lunghi
who recently starred in
Hotel Babylon will take
up the role of Piper's
'agent' or her madam by
another name. Filming
starts on the drama this
week and with ITV
director of television,
Simon Shaps, describing
it as 'a Moll Flanders
for the 21st century',
expect addictive viewing.
The Guardian
(13th June 2007): ITV
seduces stars for Belle

Toyah
Willcox is to play Billie
Piper's mother in ITV's
call-girl drama Belle de

director of television,
Simon Shaps, revealed
that Piper is to go from
Doctor Who's assistant to
high-class call girl,
playing the main role of
anonymous blogger Belle
de Jour. Now it has
emerged that she will be
joined by fellow
former-singer-turned
actress Willcox in the
drama...
Billie-Piper.net
(13th June 2007): Belle
De Jour Update
Billie
has started fiming her
role in Belle De Jour
this week. It will be an
8 part series made by
Tiger Aspect and Silver
Apples and should be
screened on ITV2 later
this year. Toyah Willcox
has been signed up to
play her mother and
Cherie Lunghi is thought
to be playing the role of
her 'madam'.

You
may recall that Toyah was
a Guest Speaker at Fame -

Show, back in march this
year, at Montfort
University in
Leicestershire. The
Leicestershire Economic
Partnership Newsletter
for June 2007 has ran a
small article on the
event, including a
picture and quote from
Toyah.
Annual
Creative Event - FAME:
LSEP
supported the annual FAME
(Fashion, Arts, Media
Eastmidlands) event which
attracts 1,000 visitors
to De Montfort
University. It is a
flagship event for the
creative industries and
is endorsed by
celebrities and scores of
national and regional
employers.
The keynote
speakers at this
years event were
singer Toyah Willcox and
Nick Pickard from
Hollyoaks TV soap opera.
Creative employers from
companies such as the
BBC, Adobe, Next and Avid
gave help and advice on
how to get in to and
succeed in the industry.
There was a networking
lounge for businesses,
presentation and seminar
opportunities on subjects
ranging from fashion and
journalism to web design
and e-games.
Toyah Willcox
said, "It was a
fantastic opportunity to
get information to the
people who count from the
people who count. The
audience at FAME was the
industrys future
and they need to have
direct contact with
people like me who have
not only got a rich
history but are still
working in the heart of
the industry.
"There is
so much to share, from
the importance of self
confidence to the
necessity
of
individuality within a
team. FAME isnt
about being a celebrity
and being a size zero
its about being
informed."

Fri
15th June, 2007: 'SFX' -
My Sci-Fi |
Toyah is
interviewed in the July
2007 issue of the,
frankly excellent, 'SFX'
magazine.
After training
as an actress,
Birmingham-born Toyah
became one of Britain's
most successful solo
singers in the early
'80s. She's since been a
regular on the UK's TV
screens, plying her trade
on programmes ranging
from Holiday to Teletubbies.
FAVOURITE SF
MOVIE
"I
like all the Aliens,
I like Pitch Black,
and I'm a big fan of Chronicles
of Riddick. I
actually think it's a
superb film and I get
very angry when I read
bad reviews about it. I
think all the cast are
stunning in it, and the
effects are
stunning."
"I like
sci-fi horror, so Alien
Vs Predator is for
me. Anything with
monsters in I absolutely
adore. In fact, on Sunday
afternoons my hubby and I
like to go to bed and
have sci-fi to watch on
DVD, and there's just not
enough made. I have a
personal ambition myself
to be in a sci-fi horror
film. I'd love it. I beg
my agent daily, find me a
sci-fi horror."
FAVOURITE SF
TV PROGRAMME
"I
watch very little TV
because I'm always
working in the
evenings. I loved
Christopher Eccleston's Doctor
Who, but I'm not
quite sure about the
latest Doctor. I like my Doctor
Who to be a little
more adult orientated.
But I'm absolutely
addicted to Medium.
I've probably seen every
episode at least six
times. I'm enjoying Heroes
and I always loved Buffy.
I always tend to watch
sci-fi on TV - that's my
passion."
FAVOURITE SF
BOOK/COMIC
"I
love books. That said, I
haven't really got round
to reading many lately.
The one I'm still
ploughing through is Perdido
Street Station by
China Mieville, because I
love his writing. But
then I love Michael Faber
who is a very light
science fiction writer -
he's a surrealist writer
and I enjoy him
immensely."
GUILTIEST SF
PLEASURE
"Probably
Galaxy Quest,
which is a brilliant film
and puts a smile upon my
face. I do love Space
1999 and Fireball
XL5, as well. I
suppose they probably
count as guilty
pleasures."

13th June, 2007: Toyah
takes on Jewish role |
Various
websites, including Digital
Spy,
Something
Jewish
and Jewtastic
are all reporting that
Toyah has landed a role
in the forthcoming ITV
drama Belle de Jour. Jewtastic:
Toyah takes on Jewish
role
Singer
and actress Toyah Willcox
is to play the mother of
a high-class Jewish
prostitute in ITVs
dramatisation of Belle de
Jour.
The blog turned
book which also spawned a
sequel already has former
Doctor Who actress Billie
Piper in the lead role as
the upscale Jewish
prostitute which is due
to be screened later this
year on ITV2.
ITV describes
the story of Belle as:
a
21st-century Moll
Flanders, an illuminating
glimpse behind the scenes
of the high-class sex
trade. It is an insight
into the secret life of
an extraordinary young
woman whose conventional
family have no idea that
she is leading a double
life.
The eight part
drama is to start
production shortly and
Belle de Jour herself has
expressed support for the
TV adaptation.
I
couldnt be more
excited, and I know the
writers and actors and
everyone else will do a
great job, she
said.

7th June, 2007: 'The
Humans' - Short bio |
THE
HUMANS are two people,
TOYAH WILLCOX and BILL
RIEFLIN. Both come from
opposite sides of the
world and from radically
different musical
backgrounds, they are
bringing together two
life times of musical
experience. THE
HUMANS live show is song
based but the songs are
deconstructed down to the
bones of raw experience
exposing human nature and
irony. Comparisons are
always misleading but if
The White Stripes met
with the vocal adventures
of Lou Reed, Kate Bush,
Gabriel and Beefheart
then you might get a
flavour of things to
come...
Three live dates
are currently confirmed
for Estonia in October
2007.

Humans' ... are coming! |
"THE
HUMANS is a project that
fills my heart with light
and happiness. The story
behind this is the
Estonian Embassy asked
myself, the hubby, and
Bill Reiflin to do a
concert in Estonia around
November, of course
Robert said No...why say
YES when a word like NO
is so easy to say. BUT
Bill and I said YES! And
thus we became THE
HUMANS." That's
what Toyah said about The
Humans in her May
2007 Webletter.
It looks like we are
going to be hearing a lot
about them over the
coming months!
There are
already Autumn 2007 dates
