Cabaret!- CD repackaged again!
Saturday 27th
October, 2007 Thanks to
Michael............................Music
'Cabaret'
has been repackaged yet again.
This, by my reckoning, is the
fifth version available on CD
since 1997, and the second in
2007!
'Toyah
Willcox & Nigel Planer: It's
Cabaret!' was issued on 8th
October through HHO Licensing,
the same label responsible for
April's 'Cabaret: Songs From The
Broadway Musical'.
The
tracklisting appears to be
exactly the same as previous
versions.
A
few screen caps from Toyah's
guest appearance on Wednesday's
Ready Steady Cook. She was in
the red kitchen and the audience
voted her the winner. The other
guest, in the green kitchen, was
Carol Decker. More caps soon.
Latex
Messiah Countdown - Two days
& counting! - Videos
Toyah,
along with Adam Ant, really used
promo videos to their full
potential in the early 80's.
Although not all the singles had
videos to accompany them, the
ones that did were always
interesting and memorable.
Toyah's
new single has a video(s)
specifiically made for her
MySpace and YouTube Channel,
including the above
"retro" clip. 'Latex
Messiah (Viva La Rebel In You)'
is available for download in two
days time.
GMTV
presenter Lorraine Kelly has been
appointed to support cycle
charity Sustrans' Connect2
project.
This is a
UK-wide project that aims to
improve local travel in 79
communities by creating new
walking and cycling routes for
those everyday journeys.
TV
wildlife and survival expert Ray
Mears will represent the Eden
Project's scheme The Edge. This
will create a new bio-dome
featuring the arid and semi-arid
areas of the world.
The plans
also include an underground
museum at the Cornwall
attraction.
Toyah
Willcox goes back to her Black
Country roots to support the
Black Country as an Urban Park
bid.
This aims
to open up the green spaces to
ensure more than 800,000 people
will live within walking distance
of an attractive, safe
environment.
Another
look at some screen captures from
the MySpace/YouTube video for
'Latex Messiah (Viva La Rebel In

for download in three days time.
Apologies
to anyone who tuned in (do people
still say that?) to VH1 on
Wednesday night hoping to see a
retro edition of Never Mind
The Buzzcocks, with Toyah
guesting. The channel decided to
change the scheduled show,
despite all the TV guides
advertising the one with Toyah
and SKY Planner still listing the
Toyah edition as the programme
was being broadcast.
On a more
positive note, please check back
to Dreamscape soon for screen
captures from Toyah's appearance
on Ready Steady Cook on
Wednesday.

Numerous
overseas websites are reporting
on The Humans' forthcoming gigs,
taking place in Estonia next
Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
THE HUMANS
live show is song based but the
songs are deconstructed down to
the bones of raw experience
exposing human nature and irony.
Comparisons are always misleading
but if The White Stripes met with
the vocal adventures of Lou Reed,
Kate Bush, Gabriel and Beefheart
then you might get a flavour of
things to come...
Toyah
Willcox began her public life as
a stage and television actress,
but it is her musical activities
that brought about her first real
fame. In 1978 she founded the
band Toyah. Her singing career
took off with hits such as
"I Want To Be Free" and
"It's A Mystery". In
1983, she was voted Best Female
Singer at the British Rock and
Pop Awards and in 1986 she
married avant-garde musician,
Robert Fripp.
William
"Bill" Rieflin is a
contemporary musician and is
currently drumming for R.E.M.. In
the past he has worked with
Ministry, the Revolting Cocks,
KMFDM, Pigface, Swans, Chris
Cornell, Nine Inch Nails and many
others. He is one of the founders
of the independent music label
First World Music.
Chris Wong
is a professional guitarist, bass
guitarist, arranger,
orchestrator, composer, and
musical director. He has worked
with artists such as Phil Watts,
Mark Rattray, Rox Clayton Scott,
and many others. Currently he is
Toyah Willcox's musical director
and guitarist.

Messiah Countdown - Ten days
& counting! - Inspiration
We
are having a bit of a 'Latex
Messiah (Viva La Rebel In You)'
countdown. Toyah's first single
for 13 years (the awesome 'Little
Tears Of Love', from 2002, was a
limited edition release) is
available for download in ten
days time.
'Latex
Messiah (Viva La Rebel In You)'
is the first bona-fide Toyah
single since 'Now and Then' back
in 1994. The digital artwork for
the single is inspired by the
beautiful artwork for Toyah's
1981 single 'Thunder In The
Mountains'.
A family
fun day organised to put the
smile back on the faces of
Pershore people is being hailed
as a great success.
The Taste
of Pershore event took place last
Saturday (13) and gave the
hundreds of visitors the
opportunity to browse around the
town's selection of shops, pick
up some locally produced food and
drink and be entertained by a
wide selection of activities.
Pershore
resident and famous singer Toyah
Willcox, was on hand to open the
event and was happy to chat to
the locals as well as sign
autographs for the crowds.
Town Mayor
Val Wood praised the efforts of
those who arranged the day and
was very pleased with how it
went. She said: "It was a
lovely day and had exactly the
effect we wanted it to. The
smiles were back on the faces of
the people and the town's traders
who have been hit very hard by
the floods.
"The
idea was to show to people that
Pershore is back alive and
kicking again and it certainly
did the trick."
Crowds
were entertained by performances
by Pershore Brass, Pershore
Choir, clowns, jugglers,
strolling minstrels, dancers and
the younger element enjoyed some
face painting.
The next
big day on Pershore's calender is
November 24 when the town's
Christmas lights will be switched
on.

Women
Of The Year 2007
Wednesday 17th
October, 2007 Thanks to AW...........................Pictures
Toyah
attended the Women Of The Year
Lunch & Awards on Monday
afternoon at the InterContinental
Hotel, Park Lane, London. Here
are some pictures of her at this
week's event, along with a photo
of Toyah and Princess Diana, at
the same event in 1987.
Toyah
said, in 2003, of that meeting:
"I met Diana at the Woman Of
The Year Awards in 1987. She sat
next to me at lunch and we were
talking about her children. It
was just before the news started
to emerge about trouble in her
marriage. In retrospect it was
fascinating, because she told me
all she cared about in the world
was the future of William and
Harry and that they'd be happy,
so she must have known she'd be
in danger of being parted from
them. This is my favourite
photograph because I am
passionate about her. I don't
want her to be wiped out of
history."

The
Changeling - Dreamscape's 25 Year
Celebration - Update
Thanks for
all the positive feedback, on the
forum, by email and messages via
MySpace, regarding the, much
delayed, '25 Years of The
Changeling' "Super
Feature"!
I really
do appreciate all the comments.
It took a fair while to decide
how I would lay it out and then
piece it together etc, so to know
that you like it is really
encouraging and makes the time
spent on it worthwhile. A few of
you mentioned doing similar with
'Anthem', 'The Blue Meaning' and
updating the 'Love Is The Law
20th Anniversary' page. All I
will say for now is... never say
never... ;)
I must
also thank Andi again as he
contributed a lot of the content.
Speaking
of content, I have just updated
the feature with 'The
Changeling/Brave New World' press
adverts, and a small section on
the iconic 'Brave New World'
imagery.
Any extra
bits and pieces relating to 'The
Changeling' period will be added
as and when I unearth it.

everyone enjoyed the day. Check

Quoting
Toyah from My Body Hell:

Occasionally I dye them blonde
and they've also been pink. You
can surprise your man in lots of
ways. I often play around with
the shape and the colour!"
She also

principal boy and was on stage in
a very short tunic. The front row

been some pubic hair showing! The
