'Labyrinth', 'Twisted Soul'
(previously 'This Is Your Life'),

'Quicksilver' and 'Demigod' on

.The Humans -
A Brief History |
.Monday
23rd March, 2009.................................................................Music |
"THE HUMANS
is a project that fills my heart
with light and happiness. The
story behind this is the Estonian
Embassy asked myself, the hubby,
and Bill Reiflin to do a concert
in Estonia around November, of
course Robert said No...why say
YES when a word like NO is so
easy to say. BUT Bill and I said
YES! And thus we became THE
HUMANS." That's what Toyah
said about The Humans in her May
2007 Webletter/Blog.
Three samples of
songs; 'We Are The Humans', 'This
Belongs To You' and 'This Is Your
Life' were made available at The
Humans MySpace when it launched
in June 2007.
Exclusive photos of
Toyah and Bill Rieflin were also
added to MySpace and later
further images included Chris
Wong, who became The Humans'
third member.
In September 2007 a Dean
Stockings video was produced for
the song 'We Are The Humans',
featuring footage of the band
rehearsing. The album, 'We Are
The Humans', was recorded in
Seattle, USA.
So far The Humans have played
three live gigs; 25th October,
Tallin, 26th October, Tartu, and
27th October, Viljandi. All in
2007 and all in Estonia. A fourth
concert, the 'We Are The Humans'
album launch, takes place on 1st
May, once again in Estonia.
This concert is special for a
number of reasons; it's the
launch of a much-anticipated
album, Robert Fripp will be
supporting The Humans, as well as
guesting in their set, the gig
will be recorded for a possible
live release, and the President
of Estonia will be in attendance
as part of the Anniversary of
Estonia Independence.

Toyah is mentioned in an Edinburgh
Evening News article, Celebrity
fans help float Gideon and the
Shark, published yesterday:
"We were surrounded by music
growing up," says Gideon.
"Our dad managed bands so
there were always musicians
wandering around and he'd take us
to a lot of gigs." The
siblings' dad managed Toyah
Willcox back in the 80s, and
Gideon remembers it as being
"pretty mad having her
wandering around with her crazy
get up and orange hair." The Move
Channel website namechecked
Toyah in their Celebrity
Neighbours feature on
Friday.
A similar
article on Property
Wire. They report UK
property investors favour same
countries as celebs, which,
again, mentions Toyah.
There is
still no word on when the Vampires
Rock DVD, with Toyah, will
be available. Keep checking www.vampiresrock.com for news on this.
Unfortunately
it now looks unlikely that Anchoress
will be released on Region 2 DVD
this month, or anytime soon. The
DVD was scheduled for next week,
29th March, but most online
retailers are now saying this
won't happen.

The
'Birmingham Post' have
interviewed Chris Phipps. He used
to be one of the hosts of Look
Hear! with Toyah in the late
70s and early 80s.
Roger
Shannon talks to Chris Phipps about
Birminghams rich rock
heritage
From presenting and interviewing
on radio, it was a small step to
doing the same on television and
the opportunity arose when BBC
producer Roger Casstles
assembled a team to front the BBC
Midlands pop show Look! Hear!,
produced at BBC Pebble Mill.
The pairing of Phipps with Toyah
Willcox is self-effacingly
described by Chris: We were
played off against each other as
a punk versus a Keith
Chegwin. Toyah, the
Birmingham-born actress and
singer, was hot-foot from her
infamous appearance in the Derek
Jarman movie, Jubilee (1978).
Look! Hear! showcased the
regions post-punk and
2-Tone scene Duran Duran,
The Specials, Selector, Dexys
Midnight Runners making
the Pebble Mill a key location in
the promotion of the citys
burgeoning musical pedigree.

Vampires
Rock Musical with special guest
star Toyah Willcox at
The Shaw Theatre, Euston Road,
London. This was the last
night of a huge 50 date UK tour
for this production. On stage for
2 hours 30 mins over two sets it
was really great fun. It has
hints of The Rocky Horror Show
along with a great live band and
stage set, sexy female dancers,
great costumes and the best rock
soundtrack ever.
The singers feature
80s pop star Toyah who sings and
looks better than ever. Set
included songs by Guns And Roses,
AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Rainbow,
Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Queen, Meat
Loaf, Ozzy Osbourne and many
more. Lots of comedy and adlibs
between the songs. Toyah Willcox
singing "Sweet Child Of
Mine" was a highlight.
For the last 30 mins
the crowd (some who dressed up)
were on their feet dancing to
gems like 'Crazy Little Thing
Called Love', 'I Love Rock n
Roll', 'We Will Rock You', 'Devel
Gate Drive', 'Bat Out Of Hell'
and an encore of 'God Gave Rock n
Roll To You'.
Some of the bands I
see should go and see this
rocktacular to get some ideas on
how to put on a proper visual
show. A really enjoyable evening.
See www.vampiresrock.com for more
info and keep checking for future
dates with another major tour
planned for Sept 2009.

"I wanted to show under the

I have seen Nicola many times on

.Office
Reality - Executive storage
cupboards for Toyah Willcox |
.Thursday
5th March, 2009........................................................Press Clips |
Singing and acting
star Toyah Willcox has chosen
maple executive bookshelves from
our Liberia storage range.
Available in a combination of two
widths and three heights, the
Liberia range can be further
customised with the use of glass
door, wooden doors drawers and
tambour shutters. Toyah specified
a mixture of open shelving and
cupboard doors for her home
office library. Extending to a
height of 2140m this system
provides comprehensive solutions
to a variety of storage needs
while still preserving an
upmarket executive appearance.
Impressed by the
comprehensiveness and value for
money on our web site. Toyah said:
Like so many people around
the world my company depends on
my having an office at home. I
have TV cameras and press
photographers in my home on a
daily basis so I was looking for
style and good workmanship.
Having discovered
Office Reality on the net I was
excited by the crisp, solid,
sassy designs they had on offer.
The ordering process was easy and
efficient, in fact I managed to
set it all up whilst on a
national tour. The shelves
arrived in a matter of weeks and
the standard of work is
excellent, nothing disappointed,
even the delivery man was
charming! The quality and value
for money rates 10 out of 10! I
wholeheartedly recommend the
products on offer, my shelves are
from the Executive Furniture and
Storage Range.'

The Secret Diary
Of A Call Girl DVD Box Set,
containing both seasons of the
hit show. This is available to
buy from today. As is The
Complete Series Two DVD (see news
update below). ITV2's
sexually-charged drama, Secret
Diary Of A Call Girl,
follows the double life of a
beautiful young prostitute
working the streets of London. By
day, Hannah (Billie Piper, Doctor
Who) is a respectable legal
secretary who works long hours to
make ends meet. By night she's
Belle, a ruthless, money-hungry
hooker who will do anything to
satisfy her clients' basest
fantasies. A professional in
every sense of the word, Belle
slips with seeming ease from the
role of girl-next-door to
high-heeled dominatrix, taking
care never to become emotionally
involved with her clients. But
the constant pressures of keeping
her two lives separate begins to
take its toll, and in an
unguarded moment with a handsome
stranger, Belle lets slip her
true identity. From then on, he
only wants to be with Hannah...
Based on the
internet blogs of London call
girl Belle de Jour, this
provocative TV drama presents a
very human angle on the sex
trade. Released here is every
episode from the show's first and
second series.
