As the popularity of glam rock faded, no dominant musical scene emerged to replace it, leading to chart success for bands including Abba, Showaddywaddy, the Brotherhood of Man and the Wurzels \u2013 while outside the mainstream, punk rock was rapidly growing in popularity.
